Patient Financial Services Representative

Ortonville Area health Services seeks a highly motivated individual who has a passion for helping others to join our team. As a PFS Representative, you will be the liaison between patients and our financial services department assisting in a variety of areas. Our PFS team plays a vital role in ensuring a positive experience for our patients by offering support and guidance with financial matters.
Job Duties:

Coordinates collection activities with patients, insurance & billing personnel, and/or responsible third party as necessary to coordination collection of accounts.
Responsible for working with patients to develop payment plans and options for resolution of outstanding patient balance.
Handles the calls from patients or responsible parties of accounts.
Responsible for the correct and accurate maintenance of records
Maintenance of accurate information within the computer system to enable others to determine where the account is within the collection process.
Coordinates authorization of hospitalization & certain outpatient nursing services with insurance payors & patients in a timely and effective manner to ensure coverage of services
Responsible for all follow-up in connection with the collection of account balances due. This will include contacts by telephone with insurance companies and agents, other departments of the hospital, patients, etc.

Qualifications:

Strong communication, computer & problem solving skills, an enthusiastic & positive attitude.
general knowledge in billing procedures; health care experience preferred
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

Hours and pay:

Full-Time, Monday-Friday
Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA account with employer match
Generous PTO bank
PERA retirement with employer match
Salary Range: $39,000-$56,000 annually
