Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
OAHS and Northside Medical Clinic seeks a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive mental health care, including assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans, often including medication management. This role involves collaborating with other healthcare professionals and providing patient and family education.Job Duties:
- Assess, develop, and monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, medications, and treatment plans
- Demonstrates and promotes the value for professional nursing practice including use of standards, use of nursing process and patient advocacy.
- Maintains adequate and up-to-date records of services provided and submits all necessary information for accurate and timely billing
- Utilizes effective communication and negotiation with patient to establish goals that are consistent with the overall plan of care
- Contribute to the improvement of patient care and quality initiatives within the facility
Qualifications:
- Education: Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialty in Psychiatric Mental Health.
- Licensure/Certification: Valid Minnesota and South Dakota state license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
- Experience: Previous experience in a clinical setting, preferably in mental health, is often preferred.
- Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and clinical skills.
